An anon recommended an ill-fated 2009 British television series called Trinity. I’m not always able to follow up on recommendations right away but this was a right time right place situation and I just finished the 8th and final episode a couple of days ago.

The Falling

This post was flagged by Tumblr’s adult content filter, and there’s only one pic that’s a problem but for some reason it would not allow me to remove the pic and save the edited post. So I have moved it here to wordpress.

The Falling (2014) takes place at a girls boarding school in the 60’s. The plot surrounds a mysterious falling sickness that infects the students after one of them dies (but note that it’s more of a drama than a supernatural mystery). There’s canon incest in the film, I’ll say that much, and then proceed with a semi-spoilery description.

Jug Face

This is a commentary moved over from tumblr.

Gratitude to my Anon who wanted to know about Jug Face. I hadn’t heard of this horror movie from 2013, which just goes to show how much I need your recommendations, and how the internets needs a site to help you follow new releases and find movies that would interest you. (I really would have thought that I would have heard about a movie that came out last year. Clearly my system needs work.)

First let me that I enjoyed it a lot. For a low-budget (independent?) production it looked great and it was interesting and entertaining.

Jug Face takes place in a back country community that worships a pit. “The Pit” heals members of the community in exchange for regular human sacrifices. It has a psychic connection with a “potter” who goes into a sort of trance and creates a jug with the face of the next sacrifice on it. The story centers on Ada who discovers a new jug with her face on it while it is still being made and hides it. The Pit retaliates by killing, but after Ada discovers she is pregnant she is even more determined to live.

The child’s father is her brother, Jessaby, and there is further conflict in the story surrounding the fact that Ada is to be “joined” (married) and doesn’t want to because she loves Jessaby, and also because she must hide the fact not only that she’s pregnant but also that she is no longer a virgin.

Butterfly

Hi, everyone! When Tumblr put their new policy into place, a number of my posts were flagged for sexual content/nudity. At the time, I didn’t fully understand the appeal process or what was allowed, and began relocating them to my WordPress and deleting the originals. I know now that most of them would have been approved and reinstated but alas, it’s too late. So there will be a series of posts moved over from Tumblr due to being flagged, at this is the first of them.

So there is this insane movie called Butterfly about a father and daughter who are in love. I can hardly believe it’s real.

(I am going to jump right into spoilers, but  for once I actually advise that you read the spoilers.)
